END OF FAITH

Text: 1 Peter 1:9

Receiving the end of your faith ,which is the salvation of your soul.

There are five key-words in our text above that we need to take a second look at :

 1. Receiving: Well, this is a present continuous tense which depicts that what we are looking at is ongoing. Also, receiving means to take something that is being offered. As a receiver, you can either accept or reject.

 2. End : There is no end without beginning or starting point. Obviously, the starting point in this regard is the day you begin your Christian journey. By that I mean the day you had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, by giving your life to Him, and not necessarily the day you started going to church or reading Bible. Invariably, the 'end' in that text suggests that being born again is not the destination, but the beginning of a journey with an end in view.

3. Your Faith : The bone of contention is "your faith." Your faith is the conviction you had when you newly gave your life to Jesus and, you began your Christian journey. Note that if you have not experienced this new birth, you have not even began the journey.

 4. Salvation : The next key word is Salvation. Most times people only refer to the experience at new birth as salvation. Yes, that is correct but that is the Salvation that occurred in your spirit man. But the end of your faith leads you to the next salvation which is that of your soul.

 5. Your Soul : Man is a spirit, he has a Soul and lives in the body. The end of your faith is the Salvation of your soul. This is the goal of your faith.

Take time to ponder on this question : What shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:26.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
