ANOTHER COMFORTER(1)

Text : John 14:16

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

When the disciples heard about Jesus' departure, they were full of sorrow and fears. So He issued them a profound statement to allay their fears. He said to them "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you"(John 14:18)

The disciples had enjoyed some comforts, supernatural protection, provisions and deliverance while Jesus was around. Peter's mother in-law was healed of fever instantly, the disciples were delivered from shipwreck, their financial obligations were met.  The disciples enjoyed all-round help and comfort because Jesus was around.

In view of the privileges the disciples had been enjoying because of Jesus' presence, they were filled with sorrows when they heard that He would be leaving them(John 16:5-7).

The same comforting news Jesus gave them over 2000 years ago, is still applicable to you and me today: *I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS*
Whatever you may be going through today, I am made bold to tell you that you have the same comfort Jesus promised the disciples. Another Comforter  which He promised had already been sent and same comforter is still around till TODAY. The Holy Spirit will give you same comfort the disciples enjoyed while Jesus was with them.

Whatever your situation might be today, I want to tell you that the comforter(Holy Spirit) is around to comfort you.
Just take few minutes, wherever you are now and RECEIVE His comfort into your situations.

Bible reading: John 14:16-20, John 16:4-16.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
